Heitz Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Idiosyncratic Heitz, recently purchased by billionaire Gaylon Lawrence, produce a style of wine that hasn’t changed much in the past five decades. Their Cabernet’s spend a year in huge oak barrels before going to barrique for around 3 years and tend not to to Malo-lactic fermentation. It’s an unusual process that produces long lived wines that have great acidity and wild red fruits alongside signature mint and sage leaf flavours – Californian, but from another era.
